ORVIA is a veteran-founded and veteran-led organisation. That background shapes how we work: calm under pressure, evidence first, and a duty of care that doesn't switch off.

As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, ORVIA commits to two simple principles: that no member of the Armed Forces community should face disadvantage in accessing our support, and that special consideration is appropriate in some cases — particularly for those who have been injured or bereaved. We have applied for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award and that application is in progress.

The Armed Forces community includes serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families. Many carry safeguarding, family and welfare concerns that the systems around them don't always handle well. ORVIA understands that world, and we're here to help.

What we commit to

No disadvantage

Service, reservist and veteran status will never count against anyone seeking ORVIA support.

Fair access

We offer service families a clear, respectful route to safeguarding help, and will signpost to specialist services where they're better placed.

Special consideration

Where someone has been injured or bereaved in service, we'll take that into account in how we support them, including access and cost through the Foundation.

Understanding

We recognise the specific pressures of service life — postings, deployments, transition to civilian life — and we won't make people explain it from scratch.
